I help mission-driven teams turn complex ideas into clear, compelling visuals so audiences not only understand the message, but actually care.
My work is guided by heart, powered by strategy, and occasionally fueled by sci-fi daydreams and Beyoncé interludes.
For roughly the first decade of my career I worked in traditional advertising using design to convince audiences to buy products from brands like Starbucks, Tyson, and Crocs. For 7 of those years, my job was to make Crocs cool. As a member of the global in-house creative marketing team, I quickly climbed the corporate ladder by ideating, pitching, and strategically executing creative marketing campaigns both big and small that helped take Crocs from $1 billion to $3 billion within a few short years.
Now, I strive to use my skills to enhance the work of clients who are doing more meaningful work. I primarily do this at my job with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory where I help to communicate what their teams are discovering in the Buildings and Geothermal technology sectors. But I also do this through my branding studio, Tote Bag Creative Studio, where I craft thoughtful visual identities and campaigns for businesses, individuals, and causes who also have meaningful messages to communicate.
In my free time, I can usually be found reading a book, working on some sort of yarn craft, and wishing baked goods would magically appear in front of me – all while my adorable toddler eagerly clings to me.
Feel free to reach out! I love speaking with fellow creatives, and I'm always down to chat with a prospective client looking for strategic ways to tell their brand's story.
